MEDIUM

So which show are you up to? Prison Break? 24 Hours? Lost? Hero? My favorite is Medium, a psychic TV series. Unfortunately I don't have any friend who is sharing my taste. I would really give some merits to my husband Jeff, who is willing to give up his heartly beloved action TV shows /movies (such as Snipers and 24 Hours) and watch a scary, sometimes bloody show such as Medium, right before we fall into sleep at night.

I figure out the following possible answers to my strong loyalty to this show:

  1. It is based on a real phychic's life (of course not all of the stories are real). I always believe the existence of people who can see the deads and forsee something that will happen in future. But don't misunderstand, I don't believe fortune tellers though. As a christian, I always believe that spirits do "talk", and they do try to communicate with human beings.
  2. I like the detective stories a lot, although I could never become Sherlock Holmes, I always feel that I have the potential to be Dr. Watson. Mysteries are my favorites. Isn't that cool that the deads could tell the alives what happened to them?
  3. I like Aillison and Joel's family life - one common couple with three daughters. The dailiy life scenes are so natural.

To those ones who have no idea what is Medium about, here comes a brief introduction:
(info. source: Wikipedia, edited by Juju. For show schedule, please go check http://www.nbc.com/Medium/)

Allison DuBois (Patricia Arquette) is a strong-willed mother of three girls. She can talk to dead people, see the future in her dreams, and read people's thoughts. Her husband Joe (Jake Weber), an aerospace engineer, slowly comes to believe that what his wife is a phychic, upon discovering that some of her dreams match the details of a murder in Texas.

The real challenge is convincing her boss, D.A. Devalos (Miguel Sandoval) -- and the other doubters in the criminal justice system -- that her psychic abilities can give them the upper hand when it comes to solving violent and horrifying crimes, whose mysteries often reside with those who lie beyond the grave. Information on certain people or crimes come to her in dreams or visions in cryptic forms, and never really mean what they seem to. Allison has also helped or been helped by, Captain Kenneth Push of the Texas Rangers (Arliss Howard). He is the first law-enforcement person Allison revealed her gift to.

All of her daughters appear to have inherited their mother's gift, with Ariel (Sofia Vassilieva) and Bridgette (Maria Lark) also having visions or dreams, which usually occur when their mother is in a bind in searching for answers to her own dreams. In Season 3, Allison's youngest daughter, Marie (Madison and Miranda Carabello), is also shown to be paranormally inclined. Currently, her only ability is to watch a premium TV channel that the family does not subscribe to. Bridgette never appears to be bothered by her abilities, while Ariel usually has a harder time trying to cope with a gift she knows very little about.

Allison's younger half brother, Michael "Lucky", has the family gift too, but doesn't like to acknowledge it much, since it always seems to bring him trouble.

Allison is often accompanied by a local Arizona cop, and friend to Manuel Devalos, Det. Lee Scanlon (David Cubitt), who at first did not believe that she had a "gift". Allison often bends the rules of the law when she is determined to stop a crime she's had a vision of, from happening. In the show Lee is actually dating the blond deputy mayor Lynn DiNovi (Tina DiJoseph) of Phoenix City.
